Installation is the difference between a lawn that roots in ten days and one that dies in strips. Our crew lays sod in a staggered brick pattern with tight seams, rolls it for soil contact, and leaves you a watering plan to run on your own irrigation.

Lawn prep
New sod on bare DFW clay struggles. We strip dead or weedy turf, grade for drainage away from the house, and spread an inch of topsoil so roots have something to grab.

Order by Wednesday. Sod is cut to order, so the farm cuts at first light and it is normally on your driveway 24 to 48 hours from the cut. Rain can push a cut back a day, and we text you the moment we know.

Somewhere flat, close to the yard, and out of your car's way for a day. The forklift places pallets on the driveway or the curb. Concrete is best: a pallet parked on the lawn for a day leaves a yellow rectangle you will be looking at for weeks.

Tell us about the gate, the slope, the low branches, and the parked cars before delivery day rather than on it. A flatbed with a forklift on the back needs room to swing. If the only way into the back yard is a narrow side gate, the pallets stop at the driveway and the rest is a wheelbarrow.

Old turf out, ground graded away from the house, and every sprinkler zone tested. Do it before delivery day, not after. Sod that lands on unprepped clay sits there drying out while somebody goes to rent a sod cutter.
